The 1939 Boston University Terriers football team was an American football team that represented Boston University as an independent during the 1939 college football season. In its sixth season under head coach Pat Hanley, the team compiled a 5–3 record and was outscored by a total of 80 to 77.[1]

Boston University was ranked at No. 174 (out of 609 teams) in the final Litkenhous Ratings for 1939.[2]
