Written by lead vocalist Myles Kennedy and lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, it was released as the lead single from the band's fourth studio album Fortress on August 12, 2013 in Europe and on August 20, 2013 in the US.[1] The song peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and reached the top 20 of several other Billboard charts.
