Captain Anshuman Singh was an Indian Army Medical officer in the 26th Battalion of the Punjab Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, India's second-highest peacetime gallantry award, for his exceptional bravery. He lost his life on July 19, 2023, while trying to save other personnel from a fire at an Indian Army ammunition dump in the Siachen Glacier region.[3][4]
