Bernette Joshua Johnson (born June 17, 1943)[1] is an American lawyer from New Orleans, who served as the chief justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court from 2013 to 2020.[2]

She is the first African American to serve in this position, and succeeded Catherine D. Kimball.
