Bheeshma Parvam (transl. The Chapter of Bheeshma) is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film[5][6] produced and directed by Amal Neerad. The film features an ensemble cast of Mammootty, Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Shine Tom Chacko, Farhaan Faasil, Nadhiya Moidu, Sudev Nair, Veena Nandakumar,Dileesh Pothan, Jinu Joseph, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Harish Uthaman, Lena, Shebin Benson, Abu Salim, Anagha.[7] The film is written by Amal Neerad and Devadath Shaji with Ravisankar credited as additional screenwriter.[8] RJ Murukan has penned the additional dialogues.[9]
Amal Neerad and Mammootty were planning to film the movie Bilal, the sequel to Big B. Due to COVID-19 lockdown, the project was delayed and they decided to collaborate for a small-scale film.[10]
Bheeshma Parvam was released on 3 March 2022 and received positive reviews from critics who praised the cast performances (especially Mammootty, Soubin Shahir and Shine Tom Chacko), direction, screenwriting, action sequences, cinematography, and music, but criticised its pace and runtime.[11] The film broke many box office records for a Malayalam film, crossing the ₹50 crore (US$6.6 million) mark on the 6th day of its release.[12][13] As of 3 April 2022[update], Bheeshma Parvam grossed over ₹84.6 crore (US$10 million).[a][14][15] The film is currently the tenth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.
