Draft:West Coast Partnership Development

  • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:NCORP) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’.
Please note that some of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable for establishing notability and should be removed (including blogs, company websites).
Additionally, the draft tends to read too much like a corporate CV, which Wikipedia is not.
Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.
It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:NCORP criteria #3, because XXXXX").
You may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 06:20, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

West Coast Partnership Development (WCPD) is the Shadow Operator for HS2 and part of West Coast Partnership, a joint venture between FirstGroup and Trenitalia.[1]

During November 2016, the Department for Transport (DfT) announced the InterCity West Coast franchise would be replaced by the West Coast Partnership (WCP). In August 2019, the DfT awarded the WCP franchise to the First Trenitalia consortium. Originally, the franchise was initially scheduled to run until March 2030, and had also been set to operate the initial High Speed 2 services from 2026, before project delays moved its expected completion.[2] However, during December 2020, it was announced that First Trenitalia and the DfT had agreed to terminate the WCP franchise at the earlier date of 31 March 2026 as part of the abolition of the franchise system;[3] later revisions resulting from COVID-19 and poor performance shortened the contract expiry to October 2023 before being extended to October 2026.[4]

The role of West Coast Partnership Development is to design and deliver a fully integrated high-speed and intercity rail network along the West Coast Main Line corridor. The shadow operator is designing the high-speed services which will run on the new High Speed 2 railway, as well as planning the future Avanti West Coast intercity services.[1]
