Edward Alan John George, Baron George GBE PC DL (16 September 1938 – 18 April 2009),[1] known as Eddie George, or sometimes as "Steady Eddie", was Governor of the Bank of England from 1993 to 2003[1] and sat on the board of NM Rothschild and Sons.
