In Greek mythology, Eleusis (/ɪˈljsɪs/ ih-LEW-siss)[1] or Eleusinus (Ancient Greek: Ἐλευσῖνι, romanizedEleusîni, or Ἐλευσῖνα, Eleusîna) was the eponymous hero of the town of Eleusis.
