Estonia sent 27 athletes to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.[3] Half of them competed in cross-country skiing, where Estonia won all of their three Turin Olympic medals.[4] Olympic champion Andrus Veerpalu participated on his 5th Winter Olympics.
