Telugu cinema consisting of films in the Telugu language. It is one of the largest film production centres in India. In 1957, the epic mythological film Mayabazar became the first Telugu film to gross ₹1 crore. The 1992 film Gharana Mogudu, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and starring Chiranjeevi, was the first Telugu film to collect a share of ₹10 crore at the box office.[1] In 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning became the first Telugu film to gross ₹500 crore. Its 2017 sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion became the first Indian and Telugu film to gross ₹1000 crore.
