Mary Emily Bates Coues (née, Bennett; after first marriage, Bates; after second marriage, Coues; August 26, 1835 – February 16, 1906) was an American suffragist and society woman[1] of the long nineteenth century, committed to women's rights, spiritualism, and the occult.[2]
