Mrugaraju (transl. Lord of the beasts) is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language action adventure film directed by Gunasekhar. The film stars Chiranjeevi, with supporting roles played by Simran, Sanghavi and Nagendra Babu. The music was composed by Mani Sharma. Released during the Sankranthi festival on 11 January 2001, the film was a box-office bomb.[1] The core plot is based on the 1996 American film The Ghost and the Darkness.[2] It was dubbed into Tamil as Vettaikaran and in Hindi as Rakshak - The Protector.[3]
