The Niers (German: [niːɐ̯s], Dutch: [niːrs] ) is a river in Germany and the Netherlands, a right tributary of the river Meuse (German and Dutch: Maas). Its wellspring is near Erkelenz, south of Mönchengladbach, in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).
