Hendrik Johannes Nicasius "Nyck" de Vries[1] (Dutch: [nɪk ˈvriːs]; born 6 February 1995) is a Dutch racing driver currently competing for Toyota Gazoo Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and Mahindra Racing in Formula E. He won the 2020–21 Formula E World Championship and the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship as well as the 2010 and 2011 Karting World Championships. He was signed to the McLaren Young Driver Programme from January 2010 until May 2019. De Vries made his Formula One debut in September 2022 as a substitute for Williams at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. He joined Scuderia AlphaTauri for the 2023 season but was released after the 2023 British Grand Prix – the 10th race of that 22-race season.
