George Davis Peter Gent (/ɛnt/ JENT;[1] August 23, 1942 – September 30, 2011)[2] was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He became a novelist after his retirement,[3] authoring the best-seller North Dallas Forty.[4] He played college basketball at Michigan State University.
