Phoenix is the sixth studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad, released on September 15, 1972, by Capitol Records. The album was produced by the band and marks their first album without producer by Terry Knight.[citation needed] "Rock & Roll Soul" was released as a single and peaked at #29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1972.[1]
