The opening ceremony for the 2006 FA Cup Final between Liverpool and West Ham. This was the 125th time the trophy was contested and the last time the final was held in the Millennium Stadium before returning to Wembley in 2007. The score was 3-3 after extra time and the game was decided by a penalty shootout in which Liverpool won the cup for the seventh time in their history.

England playing Estonia in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying round Group E match. The match took place at Wembley Stadium in England. England dominated the game and came away with a 3-0 victory with goals from Shaun Wright-Phillips and Wayne Rooney and an own-goal from Taavi Rähn. The victory left England second, five points clear of Russia.

The opening ceremony of Euro 2004 saw hosts Portugal portrayed as a ship, symbolizing the voyages of the Portuguese explorers, sailing through a sea of the flags of all competing countries. England were eventually knocked out on penalties to the hosts in the quarter-finals.

Supporters of West Bromwich Albion invade the pitch after the final whistle to celebrate the "Great Escape" of avoiding relegation on the last day of the 2004-05 season. Albion were the bottom placed team in the Premiership but beat Portsmouth 2-0, giving them enough points to move above the other low-lying teams in the final standings.

Flowers and tributes left in memoriam of Cameroon international Marc-Vivien Foé at Maine Road, home of his former club Manchester City. Foé collapsed in the 71st minute of the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup semifinal between Cameroon and Columbia and later died. Many of his former clubs created memorials in his honour, with Manchester City retiring the number 23 shirt.

England have had a long running rivalry with nearby Germany since an early tour of the country in 1899. Although the main rivalry began after the 1966 FIFA World Cup, it was fed by other events, like the second world war.

Liverpool and Everton have a long-running rivalry with each other, stretching back to each team's creation. It was known as the friendly derby due to the volume of families in the crowd, supporting different teams, but in the same stand.

Woolwich Arsenal (now Arsenal) and Newcastle United playing in the 1906 semi-final of the FA Cup. They played this game at the Victoria Ground in Stoke. Newcastle ultimately won the game 2-0, but lost out to Everton in the final.

Forest Green Rovers' stadium The New Lawn has been their Conference National home since 2006. They previously played their home matches at The Lawn Ground. The name of the new stadium is yet to be confirmed, as the club are still looking for a stadium sponsor.

Charlton Athletic were founded in 1905, the same year as Chelsea, and first played in the Siemens Meadow, so named because of the overshadowing Siemens telecoms mast. They played here until 1907 and moved on to three other stadia before World War I.

Former manager of Russia Fabio Capello. He became manager on July 26, 2012 following the resignation of Dick Advocaat. Before Russia, he managed England, he resigned from England on February 8, 2012, following the FA removing the captaincy from John Terry. He was a former President of the League Managers Association.

Manchester City's Michael Johnson takes a corner kick during a match in the Premier League. The corner kick was devised in 1867 under the Sheffield Rules, and is awarded to the attacking team when the ball leaves the field of play by crossing the goal line, either on the ground or in the air, having been last touched by a defending player.

Griffin Park is the football ground of League Two side Brentford. It is the only English league football ground to have a pub on each corner. The ground gets its name from the Griffin in the logo of Fuller's Brewery, which at one point owned the land on which the stadium was built.
