Rio Grande da Serra (Great River of the Mountain Chain) is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It is located approximately 49 kilometres (30 mi) by road southeast of the centre of the city of São Paulo. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.[2] The population is 51,436 (2020 est.) in an area of 36.34 km2.[3]
