Samira Makhmalbaf (Persian: سمیرا مخملباف, Samira Makhmalbaaf; , born 15 February 1980) is an Iranian filmmaker and screenwriter.[1][2] She is the daughter of Mohsen Makhmalbaf, the film director and writer.[3] Samira Makhmalbaf is considered to be part of the Iranian New Wave.[4][5] She has won multiple awards, including two Jury Prizes at the Cannes Film Festival,[6] and has been nominated for numerous awards.
