The second presidency of Donald Trump is set to begin on January 20, 2025, when Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. Trump, who previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021, is scheduled to take office following his victory over Democratic incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, winning both the popular and the electoral college vote. Upon taking office, he will become the second president in U.S. history to serve non-consecutive terms after Grover Cleveland in 1893, the oldest individual to assume the presidency, the first to take office after having been impeached, and the first convicted felon to take office.
