Sidney (Sid) Ganis (born January 8, 1940) is an American motion picture executive and producer who has produced such films as Big Daddy, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Mr. Deeds, The Master of Disguise and Akeelah and the Bee, Bang: The Bert Berns Story and Olympia.

On August 23, 2005, Ganis was elected President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, serving a total of four consecutive one–year terms.[1]

Prior to these roles, Ganis participated in a multitude of organizations including: serving on the board of directors at Marvel Entertainment for ten years until its sale to Disney in 2009,[2] Center Theater Group from 1989 to 1995, Direct Sports Network (formerly DeskSite) as well as on the Boards of Film Independent,[1] SF FILM,[3] the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive (Bay Area), and various film festivals and film organizations around the country. He currently serves as vice president of The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.[4]
