In Greek mythology, Theognete (Ancient Greek: Θεογνήτης) was the daughter of Laodicus. By Aeson, King of Iolcus, she was the mother of Jason[1] and possibly Promachus (Jason's brother).[2]
In some accounts, she was called either (1) Alcimede, daughter of Phylacus[3]; (2) Polymede[4] (Polymele[5] or Polypheme[6]), daughter of Autolycus; (3) Amphinome[7]; (4) Rhoeo, daughter of Staphylus[8]; and lastly (5) Arne or (6) Scarphe[9].
