I started editing Wikipedia in 2001. You won't find my first edits here because I predate MediaWiki, the software that runs Wikipedia. I've been a Wikipedia editor for longer than some Wikipedia editors have been alive.

I keep coming back because humanity keeps finding new ways to spread ignorance and misinformation. The Wikimedia movement is the world's public library and the English-language Wikipedia is its oldest and busiest branch.

I have stopped listing my interests here because the list never gets smaller. I identify as a WikiGnome and find more satisfaction in making improvements to existing articles than creating new ones. You can also find me at the Teahouse, help desk, and IRC, helping other editors improve their work; and patrolling Recent Changes to stamp out vandalism and disruptive editing.

I have access to electronic resources through State Library Victoria, RMIT University Library (alumni membership, fewer resources available than for regular members), and The Wikipedia Library. I am willing to assist with reasonable, fair-dealing resource requests through the Resource Exchange.

Full conflict-of-interest declaration moved to /COI.

Courtyard and surroundings of castle Hohenwerfen, Werfen, near Salzburg, Austria. The medieval rock castle, situated on a 623 metres (2,044 ft) precipice, overlooks the town of Werfen in the Salzach valley. The fortress is a "sister" of Hohensalzburg Fortress, both strongholds were built by the Archbishops of Salzburg in the 11th century.
