Dow Lohnes Law Firm I’m attempting to locate an obituary or surviving family of Fred Albertson. My hope is to learn more about Fred and his accomplishments in radio.

Fred was an Univ. of Michigan law grad but during his time in Ann Arbor, Fred was an active ham radio operator. Fred’s notes, in our historical library, show that Fred was instrumental in maintaining radio contact with both the Greater Rockford and Col. McCormacks Untin Bowler. Both planes failed in their attempts to fly from Illinois to Germany.

Fred also had frequents radio contacts with Admiral Byrd during his expedition of Antarctica and with Prof. Hobbs expedition of Greenland during the late 1920’s.

Again, I would like to write about his vast accomplishments with radio and hope that I could be directed to a family member for further research. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UM Radio (talkcontribs) 22:51, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I did not know Fred Albertson personally and have no information on his surviving family. You might follow up with the Library of American Broadcasting at the University of Maryland. Also, worldradiohistory.com is a worthwhile research site. Johnwellsking (talk) 00:12, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
