Wikipedia:Grief

There are five stages of grief which every Wikipedia spammer will go through when their content is removed. These steps are a natural and timeless part of life, but it may be helpful to know what to expect and how to cope. It can be difficult to come to terms with the realization that one's business, interests, or existence in general are not relevant to the rest of the world in the form of a Wikipedia entry.

The five stages of grieving are:

  1. Denial: "This is not spam. My website/article is important/relevant/useful/reliable/unique/spectacular."[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
  2. Anger: "How dare you do this to me?! You have no right to censor me! I am going to report you!"[8][9][10][11] [12]
  3. Bargaining: "Well, if I can't have my site/article here, neither should that other guy."[13][14]
  4. Depression: "It's very sad to see that a great site like Wikipedia is so very unfair."[15][16][17]
  5. Acceptance: "I am leaving Wikipedia forever. It's your loss. Goodbye, cruel world."[18][19][20][21]
