- Background
- The poll approving the trial of flagged protection and patrolled revisions, a specific implementation of flagged revisions, was closed on 1 April 2009.
- The Wikimedia Foundation created a team for the rolling out of the trial, a testing site was created to test the configuration, it is used since September 2009.
- Situation
- The team in charge of rolling out the trial has announced they were in pre-rollout phase. The rollout is expected in the next few weeks.
- Only flagged protection will be part of the trial, patrolled revisions has not been developed yet.
- The configuration as requested, flagged protection with reviewer usergroup and option to deactivate autoreview, is currently enabled on the testing site and fairly stable.
- For some time the team wanted to deploy for the trial a version with no reviewer usergroup and give to autoconfirmed users review rights while the community had repeatedly rejected this possibility.[1][2][3][4] It was later reverted to the original implementation.
