Zhetysu (Kazakh: Жетісу, romanizedJetısu, pronounced [ʑjɪtɪsəw])[1][2] or Semirechye (Russian: Семире́чье, romanizedSemiréch'ye) is a historical region of Central Asia corresponding to the southeastern part of modern Kazakhstan.
