Ovalentaria (u Ovalentariae) es un clado de peces teleósteos que contiene 44 familias taxonómicas, las que incluyen más de 5000 especies.

Este linaje comprende más del 27 % de todos los teleósteos percomórficos y aproximadamente el 16 % de todas las especies vivientes de peces actinopterigios (Actinopterygii).^[2]​ Se ha estimado mediante reloj molecular que Ovalentaria posee una edad aproximada de 91 millones de años.^[3]​
