Ichthyosaurus (dari Yunani ἰχθύς (ichthys) berarti 'ikan' dan σαῦρος (sauros) berarti 'kadal') adalah genus Ichthyosauria dari Trias Akhir dan Jura Awal (Rhaetium - Pliensbachium^[2]) di Eropa (Belgia, Inggris, Jerman, Switzerland) dan Asia (Indonesia). Genus ini adalah salah satu genera Ichthyosauria yang terkenal, dan juga genus tipe dari ordo Ichthyosauria.^[3][4][5]
