Intertekstual adalah sebuah pendekatan untuk memahami sebuah Teks sebagai sisipan dari teks-teks lain.[1][2] Intertekstual juga dipahami sebagai proses untuk menghubungkan teks dari masa lampau dengan teks masa kini.[3] Suatu teks dipahami tidak berdiri sendiri.[1] Suatu teks disusun dari kutipan-kutipan atau sumber-sumber teks lain.[1][4][5] Tokoh yang mengembangkan pendekatan ini adalah Julia Kristeva.[1]
