Dame Agatha Christie, nome completo Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, nata Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller (Torquay, 15 settembre 1890[1] – Winterbrook, 12 gennaio 1976), è stata una scrittrice e drammaturga britannica.
Considerata una delle scrittrici più influenti e prolifiche del XX secolo,[2][3] fu autrice, oltre ad un esorbitante numero di racconti, opere teatrali e romanzi rosa scritti sotto lo pseudonimo di Mary Westmacott (fra cui Trappola per topi, che venne presentata al West End Theatre ininterrottamente dal 1952 al 2020), di 66 romanzi gialli e 14 raccolte narranti le vicende di personaggi come Hercule Poirot e Miss Marple e tutt'oggi pubblicati con successo a livello mondiale,[4][5] in virtù dei quali risulta secondo l'Index Translationum dell'UNESCO la scrittrice inglese più tradotta nella storia dell'editoria, seconda solo a William Shakespeare.[6][7][8][9]
