Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ?, Kōdo Giasu - Hangyaku no Rurūshu) è una serie televisiva anime creata dallo studio Sunrise, scritta da Ichirō Ōkouchi e diretta da Gorō Taniguchi. Il celebre gruppo di mangaka tutto al femminile, CLAMP, ha elaborato il character design originale. I primi 23 episodi sono stati trasmessi dal 6 ottobre del 2006 al 30 marzo 2007 sulle emittenti MBS e TBS. La messa in onda si è poi conclusa il 29 luglio 2007 con la trasmissione delle ultime due puntate. Un sequel intitolato Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュR2?, Kōdo Giasu - Hangyaku no Rurūshu Āru Tsū), che conta altri 25 episodi, è stato trasmesso dal 6 aprile al 28 settembre 2008 sulle stesse reti.
Tra il 2009 e il 2010 Dynit ha pubblicato in Italia entrambe le serie[4][5], che sono anche state trasmesse in TV sul canale digitale terrestre Rai 4[6][7], dal 24 settembre del 2009 al 12 agosto 2010, il giovedì, con orario d'inizio variabile[8]. Dal giugno 2015 la serie è disponibile sul canale di streaming gratuito VVVVID[9].
Il 27 novembre 2016 Sunrise ha annunciato, in occasione del decimo anniversario della serie, un nuovo progetto anime, Code Geass: Lelouch of Resurrection, ambientato alcuni anni dopo lo Zero Requiem[10][11]. Si tratta di un lungometraggio che viene proiettato nei cinema giapponesi il 9 febbraio del 2019.
