Countryrock er ein undersjanger av popmusikken danna som ei blanding av rock og country. Han vart utvikla av rockemusikarar som byrja å spele meir countryaktige songar seint i 1960-åra og tidleg i 1970-åra. Desse musikarane spelte inn rockesongar med tema, vokalstilar og instrument, mellom anna pedal steel-gitar, som var vanlege i country.^[1] Countryrock byrja med Bob Dylan og The Byrds, og nådde størst popularitet i 1970-åra med artistar som Emmylou Harris, Eagles, Michael Nesmith, Poco og Pure Prairie League. Countryrock påverka òg artistar i andre sjangrar, som The Band, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Rolling Stones og soloarbeidet til George Harrison.^[1] Sjangeren spelte òg ein del i utviklinga av Southern rock.
