System ekspertowy (również system ekspercki[1]) – pojęcie z zakresu sztucznej inteligencji, oznacza system komputerowy, który emuluje proces podejmowania decyzji przez człowieka-eksperta[2].
Systemy ekspertowe rozwiązują złożone problemy na podstawie analizy bazy wiedzy, a nie realizacji prostego algorytmu, jak to ma miejsce w przypadku programów tradycyjnych[3][4][5].
Systemy ekspertowe składają się z co najmniej dwóch elementów:
- silnik inferencyjny (Inference engine)
- bazy danych, na podstawie analizy której udzielane są odpowiedzi[6].
