The 2016 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad was a major international sport and cultural event from 5 August 2016, to 21 August. The host city was Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.^[2] The 2016 Summer Paralympic Games was also held in the same city and organized by the same organizing committee.
