The 2022 French presidential election was held between 10 and 24 April 2022, the first round was held on 10 April 2022. The second round was held two weeks after the first. Since no candidate wins a majority of the vote in the first round, a runoff was held between the top two candidates two weeks later, which was incumbent president is Emmanuel Macron of La République En Marche! (LREM) against right-wing Deputy Marine Le Pen. Macron became the first French president to be re-elected in twenty years.[1]
