Auckland Islands

The Auckland Islands (Māori: Motu Maha or Maungahuka)[1] are a group of islands that are part of New Zealand. The islands are 465 kilometres (289 mi) south of the South Island. There are no people on the islands.[2]

The biggest island is Auckland Island. There are smaller islands around Auckland Island like Adams Island, Enderby Island, Disappointment Island, Ewing Island, Rose Island, Dundas Island, and Green Island. [2]

The islands were found by Europeans in 1806.
