Dana James Boente (/ˈbɛnˌt/, BEN-tay; born February 7, 1954) is an American lawyer and politician. He was the Acting Attorney General of the United States from January 30, 2017[1] until February 9, 2017.[2] He served as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from September 2013 to January 2018.[3]
