Doris Eleanor Buffett (February 12, 1928 – August 4, 2020) was an American philanthropist. She was also known as the 'retail' philanthropist. She was the founder of The Sunshine Lady Foundation, The Learning By Giving Foundation, and The Letters Foundation who she co-founded alongside her younger brother, billionaire Warren Buffett.[1][2]
She was also the daughter of U.S. politician and stockbroker Howard Homan Buffett. She planned to give all of her money away before her death.[3][4][5] She was born in Omaha, Nebraska.
