Douglas Garven Alexander (born October 26, 1967) is a Scottish politician.[1] Before the 2010 General election he was Secretary of State for International Development, afterwards he became the Shadow Secretary of State for International Development and is now Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. He is the Member of Parliament for the Paisley and Renfrewshire South constituency in the United Kingdom. He was first elected in 1997 in a by-election. [2]
He is a member of the Labour Party.
