Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund (Pashto: محمد حسن اخوند [mʊˈhamad haˈsan ɑˈxund]: born 26 March 1949) is an Afghan Taliban who is the 27th and current Prime Minister of Afghanistan since 2021. Previously, he was the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan under prime minister Mohammad Rabanni and Abdul Kabir from 1996 to 2001 and the 28th Minister for Foreign Affairs under prime minister Abdul Kabir from 1998 to 1999.
