iOS 16 is the 16th and current major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple. It was announced at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 6, 2022, and it is the successor to iOS 15.

The public release of iOS 16 was released on September 12, 2022 worldwide. iOS 16 has been succeeded by iOS 17 as of September 18, 2023.
