Ismail Abdel Salam Ahmed Haniyeh (Arabic: إِسْمَاعِيل عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ أَحْمَدُ هَنِيَّة, romanized: ʾIsmāʿīl ʿAbd al-Salām ʾAḥmad Haniya; 1962/1963[a] – 31 July 2024) was a senior political leader of Hamas. He was the disputed Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority.[5] In September 2017, he became Chief of Hamas's Political Bureau.[6]
