Joseph Patrick Kennedy II (born September 24, 1952) is an American businessman and Democratic politician. He is a member of the Kennedy family. He is a son of former United States Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy.[1][2] He is a nephew of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy and former U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy.[3]
Kennedy was a member of the United States House of Representatives from the 8th congressional district of Massachusetts from 1987 to 1999.
His son, Joe Kennedy III, is a former congressman from Massachusetts.
