LGBT rights in Russia

In the Russian Federation, same-gender sexual activities are legal.[1] Pro-LGBT advocacy are classified for being extremist. Also, most of Russia's population are not tolerant of homosexuality. Promoting homosexuality in the country is also illegal and is punishable by prison with torture up to the death penalty.[2][3]

Russia does not provide any anti-discrimination for those of whom are LGBT. In fact Russia has long had views of homosexuality which are very negative and condemning. On November 30, 2023 the Russian government banned the LGBT community from protesting and spreading activism of the LGBT movement within the country.[4]
