Louis Carl "Lou" Dobbs^[1] (September 24, 1945 – July 18, 2024) was an American television journalist, business writer and news anchor.^[2] He was the host of the program Lou Dobbs Tonight on the Fox Business Network. The show was cancelled in February 2021.^[3]

Dobbs was born in Childress County, Texas. He was raised in Rupert, Idaho. Dobbs studied at Harvard University.

Before Fox, Dobbs was an anchor, managing editor, an executive vice president at CNN.^[4]

He won an Emmy, a Peabody Award and a Luminary Award (from the Business Journalism Review).^[4]

Many personalities have accused him of racism mainly against Latin Americans, or Hispanic.^[5]

Dobbs died on July 18, 2024 in West Palm Beach, Florida at the age of 78.^[6]
