Mamady Doumbouya (born 4 March 1980) is a Guinean soldier and politician.[1] After being appointed by the 4th President of Guinea, Alpha Condé, who had just changed the country's constitution to remain for a 3rd term, with the sole responsibility of preventing another coup d'état from happening. He spearheaded the 2021 Guinean coup d'état to become the 5th and President of Guinea. He was a former French Legionnaire and supposedly also member of a "Special Forces Group" from the Republic of Guinea Armed Forces.[2] He created and became the self-appointed Chairman of the National Committee of Reconciliation and Development from 2021 to 2023.
