Thirteen (shown on the album cover as Th1rt3en) is the thirteenth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth. It was released in Japan on October 27, 2011, and in the rest of the world on November 1, 2011. It is the first Megadeth album since The World Needs a Hero to have bassist David Ellefson, who came back to the band in 2010.[1] Thirteen came out at number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart,[2] and sold 42,000 copies in its first week. The album was in the top 20 in many other music charts as well. Many critics liked the album.[3][4]

The album's three singles, "Public Enemy No. 1", "Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)", and "Sudden Death", were all nominated for Grammy Awards. None of them won.[5]
